Screen the opportunity
Use flow, pressure, temperature and gas composition to establish the initial potential and constraints.
WEX²® · Pressure energy recovery
Recover energy from natural-gas pressure reduction and waste heat to generate useful electrical power.

Use energy available within the gas system.
Convert controlled expansion into power.
Turn pressure energy and waste heat into power that displaces conventional generation.
The opportunity
Gas needs to reach the right pressure for the next process. WEX²® turns that pressure drop into useful power, and available waste heat increases the power recovered.
A conventional control valve reduces pressure without generating electricity. WEX²® routes gas through a turboexpander-generator. The turboexpander recovers over 80% of the available gas expansion energy as shaft power while maintaining the required downstream pressure.
Applications
Recover pressure energy across the gas value chain, with additional power from available waste heat in production, storage and industrial applications.

Convert reservoir pressure energy and available waste heat into electrical power, reducing fuel-gas use and CO₂ emissions.
